Interlude: The Mutterings of Shijouin Haruka.

I, Shijouin Haruka sat down on my bed.

Niihama-kun kept giving me surprises today…

I knew that he was a good person. He had always been considerate toward the people who used the library and whenever I asked him about Light Novels, he always kindly talked to me about them.

I always thought that he was a quiet person because he didn’t talk much whenever he talked to me. Today was different though, he was more talkative and energetic than usual. I was surprised by this change. He seemed like an entirely different person.

He helped me a lot too…

A shiver ran down my spine as I remembered the things that happened to me.

A lot of girls had been treating me like I was a problematic person.

Their actions made me afraid. After all, I didn’t know the reason why they did that and whenever I asked, they always refused to elaborate.

That was why I felt so happy when Niihama-kun intervened and helped me.

Also…

Normally, whenever that happened to me, I always brood over what I had done to them and it would worsen my mood for the rest of the day.

But today is the opposite… I feel great…

Niihama-kun was the reason for it. He was the one who lifted my mood. He kept me busy by talking about a lot of fun things. On top of it, he even comforted me, telling me that I didn’t have to blame myself.

That kindness of him left a really deep impression on me.

Niihama-kun might have changed a lot, but his kindness was unchanged.

Normally I would be brooding over the matter and eventually fall into depression while hugging my pillow, but thanks to Niihama-kun, I didn’t need to feel that way anymore.

“Niihama-kun… Thank you…”

I gently placed my hand on my chest and said my heartfelt thank you to him.
