◆Part2【PuJoshi’s Warning】
It was after school.
Yua seemed to be hanging out with her friends and didn’t come to the Nagumo house.
Although Yua was always at our house, she’s a cheerful person and values her friendships, so there are days when she doesn’t come to our house.
Because of my tendency to worry about what others think, the only time I can talk to her at school is during lunchtime, so when she doesn’t come, I inevitably lose touch with her, which makes me a little sad.
This is not because I want Yua so badly, but because her absence makes Tsumugi lonely. When I see Tsumugi looking lonely, I get lonely too. I don’t even want to think about why she’s lonely when I’m here.
Well, now Yua has a duplicate key to the Nagumo house, I’m sure she’ll drop by after she’s done hanging out with her friends.
I’m not sure why, but for some reason my heart felt light as I prepared to leave.
“─Nagumo-kun.”
The voice came from below my line of sight.
The first thing I saw when I lowered my gaze was a pair of pink twintails that violated school rules. When I stared at the petite but reasonably large breasts… I felt like I was going to get an elbow smash, so I hurriedly returned my gaze to her eyes.
Her eyes were big and bright, and she was looking at me.
“Come here for a minute.”
It would be troublesome to argue with her here, so I followed her to the cleaning supplies closet in the corner of the classroom.
I’m a loner, a solitary guy, but I actually have someone to talk to in the classroom.
That person is Rumi Ousaki.
Despite her cute appearance, Ousaki is feared in our class because of her strict attitude towards boys who approach Yua for some naughty purposes.
That’s why, although Rumi Ousaki is also a beautiful girl, she is not treated as a legitimate girl compared to Yua, so even a person like me can talk to her rather easily, even in the classroom.
In the past, Ousaki also hated me like a snake and scorpion, but now that we share a common hobby, she’s much softer towards me. I’m not a loner by choice either, so I didn’t mind being approached by Ousaki, who was less prickly.
Ousaki looked like she wanted to say something, but she was looking around and noticing what her classmates were doing.
Oh, I guess she wants to talk about “that.”
I decided to wait until there was no sign of people in the classroom.
“Ousaki-san, are you sure you don’t want to go hang out with Takarai-san?”
The number of people in the classroom was gradually decreasing, but there was no sign of Yua and the rest of the group. I thought it was strange that Yua had just left the classroom early, leaving her best friend Ousaki behind.
“Or are you going to hang out with that group today?”
A group of girls gathered around the teacher’s table, the atmosphere of which was also gorgeous and emitted an aura of sunshine, were happily discussing something.
“Nagami and the others, and Rumi don’t get involved with each other much after school.”
Ousaki said.
There is a school caste system in our class, and Ousaki, who is at the top of the caste, often hangs out with the girls who also stand out and are gorgeous. That’s why I was surprised that she didn’t hang out with the girls after school.
“Nagami and the others are all in the student council or involved in their club activities. They don’t have much time to hang out after school.”
“That’s true…”
Yua and the rest of the gyaru group were the same in terms of glamour, but none of them, including Yua, were involved in club activities. They seem to be working hard at their part-time jobs and having fun, but they don’t seem like a legitimate group, even if they are in the same group. They have a bit of a badass vibe.
“Even Nagumo-kun can understand, if that’s the main group, then Rumi and the others are the CHA*S.” [TLN: CHA○S, They’re referring to a wrestling unit named “CHAOS”, but the O was omitted to ○]
“I see. There’s a subtle difference…”
I’m convinced.
“Hey, can I just say it here… they’re pretty much gone now.”
Ousaki is actually a big wrestling fan.
This was a secret even to her best friend, Yua, so she was always on the lookout for anyone who might have heard about it. Fortunately, the group of you-know-who’s in close contact with Rumi had disappeared.
The reason I’m able to talk to her like this, after being hated so much by Ousaki, is because she thinks I’m a fan of a professional wrestler named Hiroki Nagumo, just like her.
I’m not a fan, though. I’m not a pro-wrestling otaku or pu-otaku, either. I’m just a semi-related person. Hiroki Nagumo is my father. I haven’t told Ousaki about it, though, because it would definitely cause trouble if she knew.
“Phew… the time has come…”
“What are you laughing at when you say that?”
“Hey, Nagumo-kun, you already know the thing about Nagumo-kun, right!?”
Ousaki’s eyes shone as she raised her voice an octave higher, grabbed both my hands and shook them. I told you, it’s okay to hold my hands, but don’t hold my wrists. I’m sure you know how dangerous that can be.
“Oh, you’re talking about Hiroki Nagumo’s expedition to America?”
“Yes, yes, that’s right!”
Ousaki, who was in a very good mood, changed the position of her hands from my wrists to my hands, so that we were in a tight hand-to-hand position. The difference in height means that Ousaki is standing on her tiptoes. She had to be careful not to break her legs.
“I heard that he’s going to America after this series is over! Well, it’s still just a rumor, but…”
“But I think it’s confirmed. Maybe he’ll go. Considering Hiroki Nagumo’s personality, he’ll probably go…”
The story about my father going to America is not a rumor, but a fact. The source came from him after all.
To me, he’s just a big old man, but overseas, he’s been hailed as a Japanese legend, and he’s been getting offers from wrestling organizations all over the world, both big and small.
I heard that such offers had been frequent for several years, but my father turned down the offers because I, his only son, had not yet finished my compulsory education, and he signed a contract to wrestle only in Japan, and only in the city center or in big matches.
Now that I’m a high school student, I can do most things on my own, and thanks to Yua, I’ve been able to manage the problem of Tsumugi, so I’m hoping that my dad will be able to play as many matches as he wants. I don’t have any objection to my father going abroad on an expedition.
Then I stayed in the classroom until late in the evening, trying to relieve Ousaki’s desire for wrestling.
“Oh, but don’t get me wrong.”
“What’s with the sudden change…?”
She swooned, her face suddenly turned serious.
“Rumi has not yet approved that Yua-chi and Nagumo-kun are dating!”
Ousaki, sniffling, crossed her arms in front of her chest and slumped down.
“You’re stirring things up again…”
Although the common interest of professional wrestling has made us more friendly than before, the war over Yua is not yet over.
Ousaki is the only one in the school who knows that Yua and I are deeply involved, and she thinks that we are “lovers”. There was a time when Ousaki tried to break us up because she thought I was unfit to be Yua’s boyfriend.
She called me to a coffee shop and we had a face-off, but I couldn’t give Ousaki a satisfactory answer. I happened to understand Ousaki’s hobby of wrestling, which softened her attitude, who wanted to have a hobby companion.
In the first place, Yua and I are not dating. If I told her the truth, she’d be satisfied and we’d be able to work out our differences, but since she’s Yua’s best friend, it would be bad if she got involved with Tsumugi and told her the truth.
We have to keep what happened with Yua a secret between us.
“If Yua-chi loves wrestling as much as Rumi does, it would make sense for her to be with Nagumo-kun, but Yua-chi doesn’t. I still don’t know why Nagumo-kun is her partner.”
Ousaki crossed her arms and looked at me with a frown.
“To be honest, Nagumo-kun without the PuOta aspect is just… shoppai.”
Shoppai. It’s an insulting term used to describe professional wrestlers who can’t put on a match that gets the crowd fired up… It is sometimes used in other sports now, but never in a good way anyway.
“How much shoppai… are we talking here?”
“Hmm, let me guess… Big Poppa Pump?” [TLN: Scott Steiner = Big Poppa Pump, an American pro-wrestler]
This is a ridiculously insulting example, but I can’t get angry here. It’s like admitting how shoppai I am. Let it sink in, me. Do some push-ups in your head to calm yourself down.
“…I get it. I’m not going to sound the alarm to get in, I’m going to take off my chainmail cape, and I’m going to call my brother with the headgear, okay?”
“Nagumo-kun, your chainmail is attached here, right?”
Ousaki made her right hand into a fist and tapped her left breast with a thump.
“I think Nagumo-kun is still building a wall around Yua-chi.”
”I’m not sure, I wasn’t looking,” Ousaki said, raising her right fist above her head with a sad look on her face.
I put my fist in front of Ousaki’s fist, but the point hurt my hearing.
Yua and I… are not dating. Yua is sometimes too close to me to be a friend, but that’s just her way of expressing her closeness, and I couldn’t do the same for her. If I did the same thing with Yua, we would have become “lovers”.
I’m oftenly confused because of the ambiguity of my relationship with Yua, and I guess my behavior makes Ousaki feel unhappy because I look like a guy who acts coldly even though we’re dating. Moreover, I still call Yua “Takarai-san” in front of her.
Ousaki looked from top to bottom as if she was inspecting a product, and sighed heavily.
“Also, I’d like Yua-chi’s boyfriend to be over six feet tall, over 100 kilograms, muscular and heavyweight…”
“That’s what Ousaki-san likes…”
It’s not like I’m dating Ousaki.
“Nagumo-kun is a little over 170cm, right? You can’t be too heavy.”
“It’s possible that I could be WanchanI*-chan, though.”
“Nagumo-kun isn’t the strong-willed and gutsy type like *shii-chan. I want someone strong enough to protect Yua-chi.” [TLN: Wanchan means “dog-like” and they’re referring to Tomohiro Ishii, a Japanese pro-wrestler.]
I’m at a loss for words. I’m not strong enough…
If I want to be able to protect Yua, I don’t think it’s only physical in terms of strength, but I’m not confident in my mental strength either, so I couldn’t say anything. It was frustrating.
“That’s why, Rumi is still against Yua-chi and Nagumo-kun going out.”
“…So, are you really going to go around telling the class that we’re dating, like you said the other day?”
Ousaki had once tried to get our classmates to break me up with her by telling them we were an unbalanced couple and directing their hate towards me.
“I won’t do it.”
Ousaki said, clearly.
“I don’t approve of Nagumo-kun as Yua-chi’s boyfriend, but you’re… Rumi’s friend. Rumi wouldn’t do anything to make her friend sad.”
“Friend…”
“Oh! There’s no deep meaning to it! I’ve said it before, but Nagumo-kun is only there to relieve Rumi’s desire for wrestling! I don’t see you as a human being. That’s right, you’re nothing but a fat boy!”
Ousaki’s face turned red as she waved her pink twintails and fists in the air.
“No, even if I’m just an insignificant airhead to Ousaki-san… I’m still happy you called me your friend.”
“Eh, really? Are your eyes moist…? How much of a loner have you been…?”
Ousaki was astonished. She doesn’t understand. She’s probably singing a song of celebrating life by being in the top of the school caste since elementary anyway, my suffering is just…
Ousaki, who seemed to have imagined my situation and felt sorry for me, panicked.
“Even my little sister had to worry about me and treated me like a loner when she said, ‘You can’t see what’s going on around you when it comes to your hobbies, so I’m not sure if you would have friends who can keep up with you.’ Pro wrestler fans like ourselves wouldn’t be understood. So, you should cheer up, too.”
I was happy to see Ousaki’s follow-up, thinking, ‘So Ousaki has a little sister huh.’
“But I won’t forgive you if you only think about yourself when Yua-chi is in trouble.”
This time, Ousaki became more strict.
I guess when it comes to their best friend, they want their partner to be strong.
My relationship with Yua is still ambiguous to me… but at least I won’t do anything that will make Yua sad. After all, she’s taken care of me a lot.
In the end, Ousaki doesn’t seem to want to do anything about it.
I think it’s good that Ousaki treated me like a friend today.

Translator’s Afterword: Haaa, I really took my time with this part, there’s too many hard references and a bit of censorship in the raws which made it harder for me to look it up. I’d like to thank ucali (also a translator in our group) for helping me find them.
I hope those who are reading this will and had a merry christmas/happy holidays. Not to mention, my mother and sister got poisoned with chlorine from drinking water. Me and my father are fine, but they had to be bedridden for several days. It started on Sunday, and until now I have to tend/care for them as they recover. They’re much better now compared to the early days of their illness, but they’re still recovering like I said. Sorry that I wasn’t able to translate the entire chapter.
