Chapter 10-First Date part 2 <The First Battle between the Black Dragon Knight and the Witch of Hades Phase 2>.

The inside of the aquarium was dimly lit, and the blue world spread out through the glass. Inside the glass, fish were enjoying a false sense of freedom. Most of the guests were couples and families.

“Well, maybe from the fish’s perspective we’re the one who’s being kept… Oh, manta rays! Aren’t they big and cute?”

“No, they’re cool, but you’re way cuter when you get excited over seeing your favorite creature like that.”

“That’s not what I wanted to hear right now.”

Damn, I accidentally said it out loud. Beni walked away with a tired look. Her face was red, but she wasn’t angry… I followed her as she walked around the aquarium.

“Look, it’s a kraken! It has really long legs.”

“This octopus is so big… Maybe it’ll give me a huge amount of exp if I kill it.”

“And that’s a leviathan over there, It’s so cute toddling around.”

“Oh, penguins. They’re really soothing.”

We walked around the facility like an ordinary couple. We decided to take a seat and waited for the penguin show, which was the specialty of the aquarium. As soon as Beni left her seat, I decided to reply to Okita’s message.

Okita: How’s the date going? Try not to say anything funny out of nervousness.

Me: So far, so good, thanks.

Okita: Well, I hope you can hold hands, if not kiss…

Me: What are you talking about?

“What are you looking at?”

Whoa, cold. I felt a cold sensation on my cheek along with a voice, causing me to flinch. Beni laughs like a child who has successfully pulled off a prank, and offers me a bottle of Orangina. In her left hand, she was holding a bottle of tomato juice for herself. Apparently, she went to buy a drink for us. I mean, she didn’t see the message on LINE, did she? Okita said something about kissing and holding hands, so I was strangely conscious of it.

“Are you reading a message from the organization out here? Your carelessness will lead to your death.”

“Don’t worry, it’s encrypted so the public can’t read it. Oh, and thanks for the drink.”

We watched the penguin show that had finally started. Every time a swimming penguin did a trick, the breeder would feed it. Every time the penguins looked at us, the girls and children would scream and cheer. Beni is no exception and keeps watching the penguins. That’s unfair, I’m going to do a trick too, so can you please look at me like that?

“Fufufu, after all, the aquarium is great… My resentment towards normies is swelling up… These feelings will be the source of my power.”

While watching the penguin show, I heard a familiar voice from nearby. Ehhh, it was Anshinin, a.k.a. Arthur. This guy was here, a place full of couples and families just to preserve his anger towards normies. Does this guy have a heart of steel?

I groaned inwardly. I can’t let him see me like this. Fortunately, Anshinin was also absorbed in the penguin show, despite his complaints. When I looked at Beni next to me, she was really enjoying watching the penguin show, and her smile was so beautiful that I didn’t want to interrupt her by saying anything unnecessary.

“Look at that, leviathan is looking at me! After all, it can see my power as the Witch of Hades.”

“Jekyll and Hyde.”

“So cute… I want that child to become my familiar!”

I take back what I said before. Aren’t you being a little too loud? Maybe it’s because she was so excited about the penguin show, but she doesn’t notice our signal and keeps pointing and screaming at the penguins. It was true that the penguins are cute when they’re doing tricks. But unfortunately, Beni is now in full Witch of Hades mode and I’m desperately praying to the evil gods as I observed Anshinin. Don’t look this way, please!

“What… Leviathan…? The Witch of Hades…?”

Ooh, Anshinin reacted to those words. This was a very difficult situation. What should I do, what should I do? Perhaps I was in a panic and did something I would never usually do.

“Eh, hey…”

“Beni, please be quiet, Anshinin is here.”

I quickly hugged her and whispered. That way, Anshinin wouldn’t be able to see Beni’s face or mine. I pressed her face to my chest as I observed Ashinin’s behavior.

“Damn, flirting out here… after all, normies don’t understand the heart of virgins… But I can’t help it, my hatred for normies is overflowing.”

After venting his frustrations, Anshinin resumed watching the penguins as if he had lost interest. I guess it’s about time. I tried to tell Beni that everything was fine now, but when I looked at her, she was looking down with a bright red face for some reason. No, it’s not for some reason, what the hell am I doing? I quickly moved away from her.

“Um, are you angry… Beni…?”

“No, I’m not angry. You’re just trying to protect me from being exposed.”

“Ah, aah…”

“But… I won’t forgive you if you do the same thing with other girls.”

“No, I wouldn’t! What are you saying?”

“I’ll forgive you this time, but let’s watch the rest of the Leviathan show.”

After saying that, Beni and I continued to watch the penguin show. I was glad to see that Beni was more normal than I expected. Her face was red, but her expression was the same as usual. Seeing her so calm, I knew I couldn’t let her see how embarrassed I was. I tried my best to keep up my poker face.

The reason why Beni was quietly watching the penguins was probably because she knew that a classmate was nearby. Sometimes I would look at Beni and the penguins alternately. Was it my imagination that my eyes kept meeting hers each time?　

Now I’ve done it. We’re a fake couple… but Beni smelled so good… and I’m embarrassed that I’m the only one who’s getting conscious.

Fuwaaaaaaaaa, what’s that? What’s that? I don’t know what I’m talking about, but I didn’t know what he did to me either… It was definitely not hypnosis or ESP, but it was something much more terrifying. 

 I was enjoying the Leviathan show and before I knew it I was being hugged by Shinya. I suppose that’s why he was named the Black Dragon Knight.

A man’s chest plate was pretty solid… Probably because it was Shinya, he was trying to hide my face because there were students from our school or something. No, when I think about it calmly again, certainly I heard him saying “Jekyll and Hyde” But why is this guy so calm? I felt like I lost because I was the only one who was embarrassed… As the Witch of Hades, I have to be on equal footing with the Black Dragon Knight…

“Um, …Are you angry… Beni…?”

“No, I’m not angry. You’re just trying to protect me from being exposed.”

” Ah, aah…”

“But… I won’t forgive you if you do the same thing with other girls.”

“No, I wouldn’t! What are you saying?”

“I’ll forgive you this time, but let’s watch the rest of the Leviathan show.”

Shinya called out to me with concern, probably because I looked so helpless. I was so frustrated that I tried to keep my cool as I replied, but I was aware that my face was stiffening. Did I do a great job? I mean, why isn’t he embarrassed? After all, isn’t this guy too accustomed to girls?

We continued to watch the Leviathan show, but I couldn’t get it into my head at all. I couldn’t stop the throbbing in my heart. Sometimes I looked at Shinya, but I couldn’t help looking away everytime our eyes met. I wondered if he thought that I was strange.
