- A Divine Dragon Girl (Bahamut) Falls In Love At First Sight With A Failure Dragon Knight
- Chapter 23 Secret Ploy
“Hold on… C-Calm down!”
Jeannie desperately tried to calm the dragon down, but her voice didn’t reach it.
The dragon was in an agitated state because of the injuries to its body, so it didn’t hear anyone’s voice.
It just writhed in agony from the pain and flailed about.
“Jeannie!”
“Hey, calm down!”
Justina and I called out desperately, but the dragon continued to flail about.
It was flying so erratically that it was losing its balance.
Soon, the dragon that Jeannie was riding was upside down.
I heard the screams of the teachers and classmates on the ground.
“Justina, can you make it?”
“Of course!”
As soon as I pulled on the reins, Justina’s huge body suddenly accelerated.
I’ll catch Jeannie!
“I’ll take Genie! Justina should take the dragon!”
“Got it!”
Falling… Finding the right moment, I pushed off Justina’s back and leapt into the air.
As it is, I picked up Jeannie on the back of the rampaging dragon as it immediately took off.
“Alto-kun!?”
“It’s okay!”
I’m making sure we’re going in the right direction before we leave.
I fall toward the school building with Jeannie in my arms.
The old me would have found it impossible…
But now, I’ve been trained by Justina!
“Hah!!!”
Holding Jeannie in my arms, I thrust my training spear against the wall of the school building.
A tremendous load was put on my arm, and it hurt.
Even so, I never let go of the spear.
The spear scraped the wall, causing vertical cracks to appear.
Eventually, the spear could no longer bear the load and broke from the middle.
However, the momentum of the fall was greatly dampened.
We fell from a height of about three stories…
The rest of the way, I dared to hit the branches of a nearby tree, killing even more momentum and using the plantings as a cushion for my fall.
“Ugh!”
I was not able to kill my momentum completely, and I felt a dull ache in many parts of my body.
“Jeannie, are you okay?”
“Y-Yeah… somehow.”
Fortunately, it seemed that Jeannie was not injured anywhere.
I couldn’t judge by appearance alone, though, so I can’t be completely assured.
“Justina is…!?”
I hurriedly looked around and saw Justina’s figure in the middle of the ground.
She was hovering in place, lifting the falling dragon with a small bite, just like a cat would do.
It looked like she was able to save it.
Although we were far apart, Justina and I looked at each other and rejoiced in each other’s safety with a look that said, “We did it.”

After the accidents, the flight training was cancelled.
Jeannie and I were sent to the infirmary.
Jeannie only got a scratch from the dragon’s rampage.
They were able to treat her right away.
Since she was a girl, she was lucky not to have any scars.
I, on the other hand, ended up with bruises all over my body.
It was probably a miracle that I only got bruises after such a reckless effort.
This was thanks to Justina’s training, which strengthened my body.
“I’m really sorry, Alto-kun…
When I left the infirmary, I found Jeannie, who was supposed to have returned earlier.
She was not as energetic as usual, and seemed depressed.
“It’s my fault Alto-kun got hurt…”
“It’s not your fault, Jeannie. It’s nothing to worry about, it was an accident.”
“But…”
Jeannie looked at me with a worried look.
She couldn’t help but be concerned.
“Hey, is there anything I can do? I’m not sure if there’s anything I can do to make up for it, or if I can just sit back and do nothing…”
“…Jeannie is so sweet.”
“Heh?”
“It was an accident, so you don’t have to worry about it, but I’m glad that you care so much about me… I think that kind of thing makes me honestly happy. Thank you.”
“Eh, ah, no… t-that’s right, well… yeah… how can I help you?”
Jeannie squirmed and turned red.
Was she embarrassed?
It was the first time I’ve seen Jeannie’s embarrassed face, so it’s refreshing.
She always kept her distance from her twin brother, Gran…
Confident and strong.
Jeannie was like that, but now she looked like a girl of her age.
Is this what people call “gap moe”?
…I’m thinking of something stupid.
“U-Umm. Don’t say anything weird. You’re embarrassing me…”
“I knew it, you are embarrassed. It’s refreshing to see Jeannie embarrassed, you’re so different and cute.”
“C-Cute…? You’re saying that again. I mean, does that mean I’m not as cute normally?”
“Ugh…No, not at all…Sorry, it’s just a figure of speech.”
“You’re not very good with girls, are you, Alto?”
“…I-I would like to improve that skill.”
“Yeah, yeah, go for it, go for it.”
In an instant, the positions were reversed.
That’s Jeannie, I should say.
“Jiii…”
“Whoa!?”
The next thing I knew, Justina had appeared out of nowhere and was looking at me with furtive eyes.
What can I say…she looks terrifying.
If there was any power in her gaze, I might have been crushed.
“Alto’s having an affair…While he already has me…Uggg, uggggghhh—”
“It’s…N-Not like that! It’s not like me and Alto-kun are like that…You’ve gotten it all wrong, Eltoselk-san!”
“…The defendant stated the following.”
“The defendant!?”
“Mmmmm!”
Justina was pouted up like a child.
No matter how I looked at it, she was jealous.
I’ve never seen her like this before.
It may be a little rude, but it was a new feeling for me.
I think I’ve learned one more thing about Justina.
“Eltoselk-san, I really don’t mean that! Because it’s true! I’ve n-never s-s-seen him as a man before in my life!”
“You just clammed up, didn’t you…?”
“T-That’s…Because I don’t have a choice! You can’t help but feel a little flattered when someone helps you out like that…Ahhh!? What am I doing exposing myself!?”
Jeannie broke down.
“What are you doing in this hallway, guys?”
This time, Gran appeared.
He looked dumbfounded when he saw us in the middle of the hallway making a fuss.
If I looked closely, I could see the other students in the distance.
It must be break time.
They were glancing at us, wondering what was going on.
“If we’re going to continue talking, let’s just move to another place. There’s something I want to tell you and Alto.”
“Okay.”
I have no idea what it is that Gran wants to talk about, but…
There was no particular reason to refuse, so we moved to the courtyard.
“Is there nobody else here?”
It seemed that what Gran wanted to say was it wouldn’t be good if it was spread to many people.
That was why he was concerned about his surroundings.
“So, what is it?”
“Of course, it’s about the relationship between Alto and Jeannie, right!? As a brother, I have a duty to stop my twin sister from wanting to sleep with you… Haguh!?”
I blocked Justina’s mouth as she rattled off a few words here and there.
“I’m sorry, Justina… I don’t want to talk about it, so keep your mouth shut for a minute.”
“Mmmmm…”
Justina wasn’t happy, but for now, she remained quiet.
She was aware of the fact that she was getting too heated.
In the meantime, I urged Gran to continue the conversation.
“This is off the record, please. I didn’t listen to it properly, I just happened to hear it.”
After the accident… Gran went to check on Justina first.
He decided that since Jeannie was with me, it would not be a problem to put her off.
And then Gran went to the dragon housing…
There he had accidentally overheard a conversation between a teacher and a healer.
What he heard was.
“This was…not an accident, it was an incident.”
